Bluefish River Tavern - Duxbury, Massachusetts

Driving around d the south shore we decided to see what the Phantom Gourmet had recommended and we stumbled upon this Tavern.

We lived the aesthetics, atmosphere was very welcoming and ample seating in between tables.

We went around 1:30pm on Thursday the 19th which was a beautiful hot day. Although we knew it was an observed Holiday for some and that school was out, we didn’t anticipate the wait time to be acknowledged and or served a glass of water. It definitely gave us more than enough time to read over the lunch specials thrice and the main menu.

Once we were finally acknowledged and welcomed, we ordered a glass of white wine and the Jalapeño Cucumber margarita which was super refreshing!

We ordered the dragon wings which had a great kick to them. The cilantro lime cream was definitely the perfect pairing to cool down the heat from the habanero glaze.

For lunch we chose the fish and chips, I personally found the fries to be more on the saltier side so I didn’t enjoy them much. The fish was fresh, flaky and fried perfectly.

We also ordered the Fried Chicken which was smothered in the gravy, overall very tasty.

There’s ample parking and the food service was quick. The waitress never checked in to see if everything was to our expectations. We left rather quickly and didn’t stay for a second drink or dessert as w were already tired from the longer that expected wait time.

BRT- Bluefish River Tavern is a whole new experience in one of my favorite locations. What a beautiful job they did.

Gorgeous exposed roof trusses, giving a very spacious feel. Local 3D artist, and sculptors exhibited in respectfully appointed areas.

This Delicious Duxbury Delicacy is for *all* of your senses. Sights, sounds, smell, taste and touch. The textured seats are a welcome unique softening of the dining room experience. They are a perfect offset to the light wood grains and the white walls and ceilings that provide the myopic backdrop for exquisite custom artwork.

The sounds of laughter and happiness, the smell of the chef’s mastery of herbs and sauces, and the feel of a perfectly laundered and folded cloth napkin across your lap.

And the food! Our party had a pizza, a chicken sandwich, a burger and fish tacos. We couldn’t wait to share our dishes with each other. Every one as good as the next.

We’ve come to dine here a few times, and the food is always delicious (it seems to get better each time, which leads me to believe that the chef really listens to feedback, and cares!)

I also am so impressed by the hospitality and friendliness of the staff. Each person we interacted with was so warm, accommodating and considerate. They truly make you feel like a valued guest at the restaurant, and I wanted to give credit where it’s due.

Keep up the amazing work, we look forward to returning soon!

We came here for dinner and it was delicious. When the food came out it was hot and fresh. I would recommend the Dragon Wings for an appetizer and the Chocolate Lava cake for dessert. We will definitely be coming back.

Great experience at BRT. The menu is expansive and was a struggle to decide what to order. Started with the Coconut Shrimp and the BRT IPA which is their own beer. Ultimately decided to go with one of the specials which was a Pastrami Reuben. Everything was great and we will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu!

My husband and I were looking for a cozy spot to have a warm meal and this place really hit the spot. Great food, cozy atmosphere and wonderful service. The food came out fast, hot and delicious. We started off with the calamari. For entrees we got a burger and I chose the shrimp with bucatini (absolutely delicious). We will definitely be back for another date night!

We discovered BFRT this spring. What a pleasure! The food is wonderfully fresh, locally-sourced, and care-takingly prepared, and served! Staff that have served us have just been great! This is our 3rd time back as we live a bit of a distance away. Highly recommend! The Mussels appetizer is one of our favorites! Thanks!!

What a find the Bluefish River Tavern is! Wow is all I can say. While visiting the shore for the day we decided to stop here to eat and are so glad we did. Every dish was incredibly well made and tasted delicious! The risotto that came with the scallops was simply amazing. I can highly recommend this place and will be sure to return.

I unfortunately will not be coming back to this restaurant. I went here with my boyfriend for our 3 year anniversary, and was highly disappointed leaving. I ordered a pumpkin martini and had a sip and offered my boyfriend a sip and decided it wasn’t quite what I wanted, so I asked to exchange it for a different drink. I was told no because the drink was “almost empty” and the server didn’t want to “get in trouble.” (I’ll attach a picture so you can see how little I drank. I then receive my steak (which was $50 dollars) and it was raw. (Ordered medium rare) service wasn’t great, and felt talked down to by my server. I love going out and trying new places to eat, but not this place.

We went today for the first time. I ordered the Caesar Salad and added Salmon.
Rich ordered the fish and chips. Our waitress, Emily, was wonderful and answered our menu questions for us with great enthusiasm and knowledge. Both meals were outstanding. The fish was so fresh and perfectly prepared. We look forward to returning.
