Everything was good, but the spinach croquettes were brutal — you have to try them sí o sí! It’s better to make a reservation. The service was also good and fast.

This is hands down the best place to experience authentic Canarian cuisine in Santa Cruz, especially for those looking for a gluten-free options. They offer a wide variety of traditional dishes without any risk of contamination, making it a perfect choice for celiacs and gluten-sensitive diners.

A special mention goes to Winder, our waiter, who was incredibly kind and patient. He took the time to explain the menu in detail and reassured us about the safety of the gluten-free options. His recommendations of typical island dishes were spot on, and he even guided us on the proper way to enjoy them.

The whole dining experience was exceptional—from the warm atmosphere to the delicious flavors of Tenerife. To top it all off, they treated us to a “chupito” of Ronmiel de Canarias, a delightful local honey rum.

If you want to savor the true taste of Tenerife with outstanding service and a gluten-free experience, this is the place to go. Highly recommended!

Fabulous restaurant serving a wide range of Canarian dishes. We tried about 7 dishes between four of us and every single one of them was fantastic. The variety and flavours were amazing. They also have a great selection of local wines. Service was warm and friendly and dishes delivered one by one so you could really appreciate each dish. Amazing place.

We had the seafood and it was so fresh! Local wine was gorgeous.

The service is here ok. Sometimes they are very happy to see you here, and sometimes not so much. But anyway they are polite and I respect it.

The restaurant is located in an old Canarian-style building with a lot of wood, stone, and wooden stairs. There are many tables outside, also inside. But all these tables are usually quickly filled with visitors and it becomes very noisy. So it's better to reserve the place before.

The food here is very tasty. Everything we ate was simply unsurpassed.
Here you can order well-known Canarian dishes. Ropa vieja, papas con carne are perfectly prepared with good ingredients and spices and tastes like home. I also liked the croquettes. The filling is tender, pleasant, I even liked the fish stuffing, which happens very rarely.
Octopus was also goos. It was cooked well.

La Bodeguita Canaria, located in the heart of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, is a charming and authentic spot that proudly showcases the rich culinary heritage of the Canary Islands. From the moment you step in, you’re welcomed by a warm, traditional atmosphere and the sense that you’re about to enjoy something truly local.

On my visit, I was graciously attended by Beatriz, whose kindness and knowledge of the menu made the experience all the more enjoyable. I started with tomates aliñados, bursting with freshness and seasoned with that perfect balance of salt, oil, and vinegar—a simple dish that truly sings when done right. Then came the papas arrugadas con mojo, and I must say: this was the best mojo I’ve had on the island. Perfectly textured, bold in flavor, and utterly addictive.

To accompany the meal, I chose a glass of Flor de Chasna—a local wine I used to enjoy, though I must admit that its quality seems to have declined somewhat in recent years. It lacked the crispness and balance I remembered.

When it came time for dessert, I was presented with several options: tarta de piña, Príncipe Andrés, polvito, and bienmesabe. Unfortunately, since I’m not a fan of pineapple and wasn’t familiar with the rest, I decided to skip dessert altogether. A bit of a missed opportunity, perhaps—but next time, I’ll be more adventurous.

Overall, La Bodeguita Canaria is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience true Canarian cuisine in a friendly and authentic setting. A special place where traditional flavors still shine with sincerity.

We came to this bar, after the locals recommended it us, as very good and typical Canarias cuisine. And it really was very good choice! The food was delicious, the servise very professional and the prices very reasonable!
We have tried ribs with potatoes and corn in the cob and shredded beef, chicken and chickpea stew. These dishes were recommended by waiters as most typical Canarian. Recommend!
