We have been coming up to blue ridge my mountain cabin rentals for years and always at at Cucina Rustica. At the time John and his wife owned it. It was amazing! We went tonight and were seated at 5:50pm for a 6:00pm dinner reservation. The hostess was also our waitress. She was very nice. Took our drink order, appetizer and dinner order as well. That's there policy. She did not return to check drinks aside from clearing away appetizer plates because she was so busy. I asked her to box up our appetizer that sat forever and our meals to go. She was clearly upset because she was doing her best. The restaurant was under staffed with no manger making any appearance. I felt badly for the waitress while my family of 4 set $182.00 for a to go meal and poor service. We will not return. It's time for owners and managers to step it up and take ownership for your establishment. Hire more help and make it a great experience for the money. Yes, we paid her full tip. It wasn't her fault....

Guess who was asked to choose the restaurant during our SpaCation in Blueridge, knowing full well that I tend to go off the beaten path?!🤗 I am happy to share that we weren’t disappointed! The first 3 sentiments that come to mind about dining @Cucina Rustica:

1. Authentic - they make their own noodles!
2. Delicious -strong yet balanced flavor profiles and generous portions!
3. Well worth the wait -approx 20 minutes to get seated, as they have limited staff and we walked in on a Friday night without a reservation. It will take a hour for your food, yet I will happily wait for high quality! And the meal was paced to savor & enjoy!

The calamari appetizer was flavorful & spicy. The lasagna bolognese was so yummy that it rivals what I thoroughly enjoyed during my travels to Rome, Italy! The seafood pasta was equally impressive with large portions of lobster…make certain you add shrimp as they are large & fresh. The wild mushroom ravioli was good, not great IMO. Skip the chicken parmigiana in favor of the veal since the veal is actually one of their specialities & you can get chicken anywhere!

And yes, I’m definitely returning to this restaurant the next time I visit Blueridge! Merry Christmas!

Couldn’t help but smell the delicious food this place was cooking up so decided to stop by for a nice dinner after a long day. Was warmly greeted by friendly staff. The manager Mandy was very nice on asking how I was and what her favorite foods were but it was my server Alicia that stole the show!!! She was fast, sweet, very knowledgeable and absolutely hilarious!!! THEEE most pleasant and wonderful dining experience I’ve had in a very very long time. Finally found my new favorite special restaurant to come to. Will be back with my friends and family, thank you so much for such terrific night and awesome hospitality!!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Amazing food, service, ambiance, ect… A little hole in the wall, family owned business! We stopped here after my google search for best restaurants in Blue Ridge and this is definitely one of them! We almost didn’t get a table because they were all booked for the day, so we walked out and went next door to the pizza restaurant and when we sat down the owner ran in there right before we ordered and told us they made it work and set up a table for us so we headed right back! The server was awesome and very knowledgeable with everything on the menu, food was fantastic and flavorful. We loved everything that she recommend! The owner kept stopping by to make sure everything was good. Overall we had a great experience and meal. Will be back for sure!

Food was amazing and atmosphere was cozy and comfortable. Bella was an awesome server and we really enjoyed Cucina Rustica. We had the calamari, chicken parmesan and lobster scampi, all were delicious!

Had a wonderful meal here. Gave it 5 but would probably give it 4.5 stars if possible. We split the burrata which was excellent. Then split the Caesar salad. It was very good but not great. I had the veal Parm and the better half ordered the lasagna. The veal was fabulous. BH thought the lasagna was good but liked my veal better. Bottle of wine was fairly priced. Too full to even look at dessert menu. We're spending a month in the area and will go back

They have THE best muscles I have ever had! Must try!!! Meal in itself !! It’s an appetizer could be a meal! Because they’re so good!
Zoey is the waitress we always get and she is hands down THE best! Love their food and service !

I just visited this restaurant for a second time and wanted to add this to my most recent review! Excellent highly recommend everything was wonderful and the waitress and staff were great!
I see a couple negative reviews below and They are so wrong! I’ve been here multiple times and the food and time was over the top!!!

Great experience. Food attractively served. Waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable. Quiet enough to have a conversation. A good place to take guests or to go when you don't want to cook.

We had a wonderful experience for my wife's birthday celebration. We were seated within 10- 15 minutes of our reservation on a very busy night. Jordan our waiter was excellent. He guided us to a very good Malbec then steered us to the lobster scampi and the Nonna's Cheese Totellini both of which were delicious. We also both had a Caesar salad - the best we've had in awhile. For dessert we had the limoncello tiramisu and the pistachio cake - both were wonderful. The service was excellent. We had a wonderful evening.
