We were truly looking forward to dining at Garrison Oak, even making a 3-hour drive for what we hoped would be a memorable meal. Unfortunately, it fell far short of expectations.

While our waitress was tentative, kind, and one of the few bright spots of the evening, the food and overall experience left much to be desired. We waited 19 minutes past our reservation time despite the restaurant not being crowded. The host did accommodate our request for a booth instead of a cramped table in the center of the room, and we appreciated that courtesy.

As for the food:
• The 10oz filet, ordered medium, arrived cold, overly bloody, and was not a proper filet mignon cut by any stretch.
• The mac and cheese had decent flavor, but like much of the meal, it was cold and served with unmelted cheese sitting on top, as our photos show.
• The corn brûlée was cold, pureed, and lacked even basic seasoning—no salt, no flavor.
• The bread was also cold and uninspired.
• The only truly enjoyable item was the loaded mashed potatoes, which were warm, well-seasoned, and satisfying.

Sadly, after an unsatisfying and underwhelming meal, we found ourselves stopping for fast food on the drive home. We left disappointed, especially after such a long trip with high hopes.

Garrison Oak has potential, but our experience was far from what we expected from a restaurant of this caliber.

Finally a real delightful high end steak house in this area. We didn’t know we needed reservations so we just sat at the bar had drinks and ordered our food.

Service - again we sat at the bar but the service was still great, also the drinks are very good as well.

Appetizer - Kentucky blue crab cakes fantastic

Meal - probably top 5 ribeye steak I have ever had in my life, cooked perfectly, seasoned perfectly, all the sides AMAZING. The salmon was absolutely perfect, seasoned just right, cooked just right.

Absolutely give this place a try, it is pricey but worth every last cent.

Took the mother in law for her birthday, it was everyone's first time. We got prime rib, the chicken marsala and a few other dishes. I mention those though because they were just absolutely perfect. The risotto was fantastic with the chicken, and the steak was cooked to perfection.

I highly recommend coming here, it is worth the price, they nail the quality. We will be returning!

An unforgettable negative experience. Reviewing the menu online and seeing the prices, I had pretty high expectations. The restaurant is beautiful and classy in appearances. Everything was very orderly from the entrance of the restaurant to the table. Sadly, there is an over baring smell of cigarettes that lingered in the air. Like you walked into a cloud of smoke and couldn't escape. This caused our eyes to be irritated. Being close to the casino room where smoking is allowed, you would figure there would be a filtration system in place. On a more positive note, the employees, like the host, appeared professional and kind. This includes the attendant to the table. He was a funny young man who communicated well and provided entertainment. The waiter/server was decent. He appeared and disappeared in the blink of an eye, which was weird as the establishment was not busy by any means at this time. When it came time for drinks and starters, we decided on a burraita meatball ($19.00) and a dirty martini to slip on, which was awesome. The meatball, however, was not worth the $19 dollars! It was bland and small. (photo of meatball posted) Ordering our entrees, the server seemed to struggle with retaining what we requested and did not write things down. I had ordered the 16 ounce NY strip medium well (priced at $65.00) with a loaded baked potato (priced at $9.00), my company ordered the 10 ounce fillet mignon medium rare ($45.00) with mashed potatoes ($9.00) and a side of mushrooms. Before he left the table, he would forget what was ordered and had to be reminded a few times. When the food arrived, the fillet was overcooked with the staff stating, "That's what was ordered by the server." This item had to be returned. I received what appeared to be a ribeye as it was extremely fatty rather than a NY strip, which is lean, also did not receive the loaded baked potatoe at this time and was told it would be out in a moment. Sadly, I never received the loaded baked potatoe at any point. The manager did come to apologize for the overcooked steak mistake and offered a free dessert. The experience was lackluster and disappointing as it is supposed to be a fine dining experience. I would recommend driving to Nashville or Clarskville not only to get a better steak, especially at that price. But to also avoid everything you're wearing, smelling like cigarettes.

Visited for the second time to celebrate Mother’s Day. The first visit was good. Not great, but no complaints overall. The most recent visit was very disappointing. As usual, the male host was very welcoming and promptly ushered me, my mother and grandmother to a comfortable booth. Starting off strong. The blueberry coconut margarita was the best drink I’ve EVER had in my life. So yummy. Perfection. The potato skin appetizer was the only food I was able to eat. Pretty good, very well cooked, but under seasoned. I ordered the chicken piccata. I’m not exaggerating when I say this was probably the worst thing I’ve ever been served at a restaurant. It was advertised as “dusted” chicken with risotto, lemon, Romano and capers with wine. I couldn’t taste anything at all besides lukewarm lemon chicken/ risotto. The chicken was pale, soggy, and unappetizing. I couldn’t taste any Romano in the risotto whatsoever. I had two small bites, the second was just to confirm that it was as bad as I thought it was. I would have sent it back had the man, who I’m assuming works in the kitchen, hadn’t been so… odd, when my grandmother sent back her overcooked filet. I would recommend that the staff be more receptive to feedback considering the price of the food. It should be cooked correctly and taste great. Especially when the place is almost completely empty.

$72 for a steak is pretty heavy, $72 dollars for a steak with a flower as a side is absolutely wild.

Hands down in the top five worst most unseasoned pieces of meat Ive ever had.

This waste of a porterhouse had zero seasoning on it, looks like it was reheated from a prior cook and was severely unevenly cooked (back to my reheated assumption). It was ordered med rare most of it was medium some of it was medium rare.

I want to hope this is a one off but I’d rather gamble on the floor than in the restaurant.

Don't go for the food. We were not impressed and everything we ate made our stomach upset later. Maybe have drinks here and that's it. The seasoning on the burger patty was not flavorful and my hubby has had better steak at Longhorns he said and we've ate at many steakhouses. We celebrated a birthday occasion here and I will say that they do a nice birthday dessert for the special birthday guest. It was not a place I will be returning back to for the food though, but the service and atmosphere was fine.

The staff was amazing!!
Restaurant was dimly lit to provide a sensual ambiance, although it is connected to the casino it did not smell like smoke. The food was brought up quickly and everything was top knotch. I will say I wish the entrees came with sides but you have to buy it separately. Complimentary dinner rolls and butter was a pleasant treat. You just order their desserts!!

This was from my visit on July 10.
Pls bring back the old chicken piccata recipe. The way it is now served with boxed noodles just does not make it the best in town, as it once was! Definitely an improvement in food and service though as compared to our experience in June.
We will try again to give them an opportunity to improve. The steak was good as usual. For the price, I expect it to be good. Mashed potatoes were good. The Brussels sprouts were very good. I had a cocktail - the lucky cherry daiquiri- that was yummy! Service - Carleah was awesome. She knows her cuts of beef for sure! She always made sure we were good. Such a delight to talk with! Very welcomed by Ian and Rhonda as well as their other male Host (I forgot his name - my apologies). Rhonda always greets us with a smile and a hello. Staff is great! Just bring back the old chicken piccata and it would be perfect! Thanks again for reading and following!

Decided to try out the steakhouse, because I was sent a mailer coupon. It was amazing from start to finish. Carlos was friendly and seated us after telling us about all the new items offered. Mario was our waiter and he was the friendliest server I’ve had in quite some time; he engaged in banter and truly made my husband and I feel at ease with our dining experience. They start you off with delicious rolls and my husband ordered a crab cake appetizer, garlic jumbo shrimp and brussel sprouts along with a smoky old fashioned (recommended by Carlos) . I had the prime steak tips with mashed potatoes and corn creme brule. Mario brought us cheesecake for dessert 💚 We paid $63 after a $50 off coupon. Everything was over the top delicious ; we are looking forward to going here again in the future!
