Poppy was surprisingly amazing. Sean was working the front kitchen and was extremely personable. He helped us order great food and shared stories that made everything taste better. He offered a very unique eating experience that I could not afford elsewhere. This alone made this a very special experience for me. I will definitely be back and I hope he figures out a way to scale the personalization of experiences for guests as the restaurant becomes successful.

I considered leaving two stars. The bill was $98 (before tip) for three of us (one of which is a 9 y/o). My experience tonight did not align with the cost. Sean introduced himself as the owner and was very nice, but it took an incredibly long time for our order to be taken despite it not being busy. I had high expectations when Sean mentioned being big on flavor, but all three of us found our food to be really bland and lacking. The portions were incredibly small for the cost across the board. My daughter said using the bathroom ruined her entire experience. My partner was still hungry after eating. I couldn’t stop staring at the dust on the lights hanging above our table. I would not return, but I hope Sean can address some of these concerns and be successful in his Cantina endeavor as my dissatisfaction seems to match the other 2-3 star reviews.

Peanut Butter and Jelly Hot Wings Yes, you read that correctly. Imagine the perfect balance of sweet, nutty peanut butter and tangy jelly, all coating crispy wings. It’s like a childhood favorite grew up and got a spicy makeover!

Dry-Rubbed Wings: Sometimes less is more. Hoppy’s dry-rubbed wings are coated in a secret blend of spices that’ll keep you guessing. Each bite is a delightful surprise!

If you’re a fan of bold flavors and crave something unique, don’t miss the Chorizo Bomb. The chorizo rounds were perfectly seasoned, rubbed, and smoked to perfection. The warm, spicy kick from the chorizo paired beautifully with the richness of the cheese. Must try!

Sean, the owner/bartender, was super personable and clearly passionate about good food. We got a margarita (fantastic) and two bowls (a steak and a chorizo bowl each, also fantastic). We felt welcome from the moment we walked in and look forward to returning.

Came out to Hoppy's for dinner. Had some great margaritas, incredibly flavorful apps and some really tasty tacos. This was a really nice spot to check out for drinks, they are really unique. Make sure to try the chorizo bombs, I'm a big fan of chorizo and these were wicked tasty.

If you haven’t been here… definitely GO.
We’ve lived in the area for a while and remember this being a breakfast crepe joint.
Imagine our surprise to discover the entire interior had been gutted and completely rebuilt into what I can only loosely describe as a ‘Mexican street food cantina pub’.

The entire room is a giant bar with outlying high-top tables.
We were greeted by owner Sean Hopkins who cheerfully walked us through his food & drink menu, how he makes it and why he makes it the way he does.

Everything, including service, is done with passion!
We had the El Jefe & Campfire Margaritas, both insanely good.
We started with the Pork Belly Bites & Chorizo Bombs (Gotta try these Chorizo Bombs, our favorite!).

For main courses we had the marinated steak burrito with guac and the flight of tacos.
3 tacos which, in order, were the Pork Texas, the Philly Cheesesteak and one that wasn’t on the menu called the Rodeo accompanied by a side of his homemade hot sauce.

Every bite was delicious and Sean made sure our stay was full of laughs and storytelling.

If you’re looking for a new local place to call home, this just might be it.

This place should never be empty, this food is absolutely delicious! I just got the steak burrito, absolutely phenomenal... I ate it so fast I forgot to take a picture and you will too.

Do yourself a favor and get the fire sauce... so yummy, hot spicy for about 30 seconds but so delicious you'll dab it on all your food. It's so good you might want to put it in your coffee.

What a great secret this place should never be empty.
